Margaret "Deet" Vledder's Obituary
On July 4th, 1924, the world became a better place with the birth of Margaret “Deet” Pearce to Vernon and Angeline (Kapp) Pearce in Grand Rapids, MI. On Sunday, February 1, 2009 Margaret went home to be with her Lord and Savior and husband, Harry Vledder, who preceded her in death on January 4, 1984. She will be deeply missed by the following: her children, Robert (Marie) Vledder of Muskegon, Gayle (John) Jones of Belmont, MI, Richard (Barbara) Vledder of Collegeville, PA; her seven grandchildren: Brittany and Kyle Rademaker, Lindsay and Nick Jones, and Joel, Jenna and Julia Vledder; her two brothers: Vernon Pearce, Robert (Sharon) Pearce both of Wyoming, MI; her one sister, Patricia (James) Martin of Wyoming, MI; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ervin (Jean) Pearce and in-laws, Clara (Alphonse) Decker, Joseph (Gladys) Vledder, John (Violet) Vledder, Ann (Sam) Hulka, and Lena (Kenneth) Henderson all of Muskegon. Margaret touched the world by her involvement in Westwood Reformed Church, Glenside/Bluffton Schools lunch programs and with cooking at The Hume Home – but her greatest passion was her family. A CELEBRATION OF MARGARET’S LIFE will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Muskegon Rescue Mission or Harbor Hospice.
