The more I came to know Mom, the more I wondered who’s mom were the usual Mother-in-Law jokes all about. I could not have had a more wonderful person for my second Mom. Of course, there was the time she made this scrumptious Dutch Apple pie. I loved apple pie and I hated coconut. After I sucked down a piece of the pie, I noticed some extra lively laughter from Marge and Mom. There was ground up coconut in the pie top. Mom, save me a place at Our Lord’s table. I want to thank my family for comforting my Mom in her last hours. Paul and I were driving a motor coach full of disaster volunteers on a Tennessee mountain top. The Holy Spirit moved many people to sacrifice in order for us to make it home for the visitation and funeral. For them and many others, I am eternally grateful. I am comforted with the thought that Mom’s love will continue to dwell in all of us. There will always be a special place in my heart that feels the pain of her lose. MOM, we miss you.
