Margaret H. Miller's Obituary
Margaret Helen (Johnson) Miller, of Muskegon, was born July 13, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI to John Alfred and Anna Loretta (Keenan) Johnson. On September 21, 1948, Margaret married Kenneth Leonard Miller, who preceded her in death in 1996. Three of their five children survive: Tom (Sherry) Miller, Spring Lake; Marybeth (Gene) Fowler, Norton Shores; and Maureen (Tom) Tyler, Norton Shores. Two sons, Joseph Miller, Lansing; and Kevin (Kathy) Miller, Morley have preceded her in death. Also surviving are grandchildren Kimberly Kelly, Ryan (Yoshiko) Miller, Sarah Tyler, Colleen (Tom) Merkins, Meghan (David) Haeck, Nicholas (Tiffany) Tyler, Matthew (Ricci) Tyler, Angela Miller, Adam Miller, step grandchildren Amber, Andrew, and Alexis Fowler, and five great-grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her half-sister, Nora Shappee, step-sisters, Sandy (Alan) Wolffis and Brenda (Larry) White, step-brother, Herbert Johnson, Jr., and former daughter-in-law, Janet Bourdon. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Johnson, and sister, Arden Johnson. Margaret retired in 1992 from the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District. She was an active member of the Greater Muskegon Women’s Club for many years and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Memorial gifts can be made to the Greater Muskegon Women’s Club Building Fund at the Muskegon Community Foundation and Harbor Hospice. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato presiding. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday, with the Rosary prayed at 7:30 PM.
