Margaret L. "Peggy" West's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret L. “Peggy” West, age 80, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011. She was born on September 3, 1930 to Howard and Ima (Forsberg) Nobes in Muskegon. She has been a life resident of the area. Mrs. West worked as a hairdresser and owned Peggy’s Salon from 1950 - 2008. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church and also of the Charity Circle for many years. In her free time she enjoyed golf and bowling. On May 24, 1952 she married Walter J. West in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1999. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Barbara (Gary) Cooper of Spring Lake and Donald (fiancée, Christine Twork) West of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Phillip Cooper, Matthew (Sonya) Cooper, Paul (Lauren) Cooper, Sarah Cooper and great-grandchildren, Reese, Cole and Gage Cooper; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. West was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Frances St. Amour, Betty Nobes and Patricia Heckman. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Weinberger officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
