Margaret M. Kidd's Obituary
Margaret M. Kidd, age 92, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born August 28, 1917, in Chicago, IL, to Henry and Katherine (Vollmer) Glafke, and she married Frederick Kidd on August 28, 1935, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1976.
Margaret was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marlene (Jim) Emery of Grand Haven; two sons, Fred (Jean) Kidd of Spring Lake and James (Debbie) Kidd of Grand Haven; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry (Betty) Glafke of Park Ridge, IL, and Art Glafke of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by a son, Frank, a sister, Evelyn, and a brother, Frank.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Fr. William Langlois as celebrant. Friends may meet the family 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, IL. Memorial contributions in honor of Margaret may be made to the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 456 Cherry St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
