It was a privilege growing up next door to the Nicholson's and attending Memorial/Cascades Baptist with them. I left Jackson after High School, but Margie and Don were still nice enough to come to my wedding near Philadelphia a few years later. When my wife Liz and I were perhaps a bit long having photos taken, it was Margie and Don who stepped forward with an outstanding and spontaneous package of piano and voice to keep the roomful of hungry people from getting too restless while they waited. So it is not just the amazing gift of music that will remain in my memory, but the kind and generous spirit with which Margie used all her gifts to serve God and everyone with whom she came in contact.

When I started dating my future husband, Margie said I could marry him but I had to come too their church - which I did. She played the organ at our wedding, and we both enjoyed the ministries of both Don & Margie at Memorial/Cascades Baptist church for many years. They were loving & giving. We adored their beautiful girls & always enjoyed the special music they shared at church. I am praying for the family at this time of "earthly" loss, but rejoicing that she is in Heaven today.

I worked with Daysprings for a short time while Margie was there. I don’t normally share much about my personal life, but the reason I came to Daysprings looking for a job was because my deceased grandfather had been there for several years before he passed in 2018. It wasn’t until finding and reading her obituary, that I noticed him, beautiful Margie, and the groundhog all share a very special day together. I became so close to Margie so quick, she truly spoke love into my heart and opened my eyes up, reminding me every night as i put her to bed that, “You can wake me up if you need me.” I love(d) her with every inch of my heart. Everyday was a blessing, she showed me that compassion does exist, and with that, the compassion in her heart never went unnoticed. God bless Margie and her entire family. And most importantly, a heavenly rest for miss Margie. Until we meet again sweet girl ❤️
Unfortunately none of the Walstrums will be able to attend services in person ... but we always say that the Nicholsons provided the soundtrack for our lives. From the moment we met Ann Smith (Margie's Mom) with whom we shared a Swedish heritage, we've considered ourselves to be extended family. Living next door on Strathmoor Lane in Jackson, Michigan ... being in church together every Sunday ... building a foundation for life-long friendships. We will never cease to uphold cherished memories of Margie (and Don) and look forward to future encounters with Diane, Jan & Sandy.
