Marguerite B. Maxwell's Obituary
Mrs. Marguerite B. Maxwell, age 95, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019, in Grand Haven. She was born February 7, 1924 to Arthur and Bertha (Lempke) Lawitzke in Detroit, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1947. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and had worked in the catalogue sales department at J. C. Penney for several years before retiring. On September 19, 1947 She married John Maxwell, and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2016. Survivors include 2 children: Marsha Maxwell, Robert (Julie) Maxwell; 6 grand, 8 great-grand, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Leonard Lawitzke. She was also preceded in death by a son Bruce Maxwell; 2 brothers: Bob and Art. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 1, 2019, from 2-4 PM in the Fellowship Hall at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 4475 Henry St. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Maxwell may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
