My sincere condolences to to all those that loved her of which I am one. She was my only Aunt and I will miss her. I dearly loved her and have recently moved back to Muskegon so I could see more of her. I first wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to Eloda and all of the rest of Marguerite's wonderful family. I share in your sorrow, as Marguerite was also a part of my family at Christian Care and I loved her very dearly. I just want you to know what an honor and privilege it was to have had Marguerite in my life...as my friend and as a person I looked forward to seeing and being with each and every day. And I was lucky enough to have spent 10 years with her and that in itself was a true blessing. Marguerite was truly unforgettable...from those sweet, soft cheeks, to that beautiful smile, to her wonderful sense of humor, to those wonderful dancing/smiling eyes...to her great love. Each moment spend with Marguerite was wonderful. I am so glad we had so many times together...whether she was singing me a little ditty about friends may come and friends may go, or when I was polishing her nails or on one of those many trips to the lake for picnics/Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies/trips for bowling or the movies...it was always a pleasure to have Marguerite along. It was always a joy to remind Marguerite about her days as a dance instructor, how she named Maggie, how she worked at the Curtain Row, how her parents owned the West Inn, about her 5 children...all these things brought Marguerite great joy. And I know for certain that Marguerite's great love and kindness live on througout the lives of all of the people she touched and who were so blessed to have known her. Eloda...you were a role model daughter all these years and your mom was so blessed to have had you in her life and I know how much she blessed you as well. And I know how much she loved you and each and every one of her family members. Thank-you so much for entrusting her to our care...I will cherish the time I spent with her, I will miss and love her always and definitely look forward to meeting up with her again in heaven some day. Until then...I can already feel those beautiful bright eyes and wonderful smile...shining over us all and guiding our paths along with her love until that glorious day when we are all reunited! One of my memories of my great grandma Walbridge was when we were really young my dad took us over to visit her. She lived at home in the trailer park at that time. I remember my sister Jenny and I playing on the floor and grandma had a stack of catalogs we were looking through. Well, we found one that had a bunch of kids instruments, and we said "Dad can we get these drums?", and he kind of had that look like "oh no...".
Grandma told me that one of these days she would be happy to get us the drums, and that all of us cousins could get an instrument and start a band. I was so excited on the way home telling Dad about it, and then he gave me the speech: "Mary, sometimes grandparents just say things..." To keep us happy I guess. We never got any instruments but it gave us something to talk about while my dad and grandma visited. Don't worry grandma, I'm not mad about the drums. ;)

Grandma, you lived a good life and left a lasting impression on all of us. We all cherish memories of special times with you. It hurts that you are gone, but it helps knowing we'll be with you longer than we'll be without you. Mom, Aunt Hootie, Uncle Mike and Uncle Pat; I am sorry for the loss of your mommy. You, and Uncle Walt, serve as reflections of the great woman she was.
