Maria E. Cox's Obituary
Maria E. Cox, age 62, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was born on October 5, 1953 to Herminio and Carmen (Echevarria-Vargas) Hernandez in Puerto Rico. Maria loved to spend time with her family, having beach days and going shopping. On September 30, 1978 she married Kenneth Cox Sr., and he survives her along with their son, Kenneth Cox Jr., and daughter, Angela Cox; 3 grandchildren, Brooke Park, Kaitlynn Park and Kendra Cox-Stevens; 3 brothers, Jose (Juanita) Hernandez, Jorge Hernandez and Noel Hernandez; sisters, Blanca Perez, Carmen Burgos and Julia Torres. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Miguel Hernandez, Juan Torres and Hector Hernandez; sisters, Carmen Hernandez and Josephine Capo. FUNERAL SERVICES will take place 1:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Norton Cemetery.
