Maria M."Titi" Wheeler's Obituary
Maria M. “Titi” Wheeler, age 68, passed away Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Jose and Margarita (Prestamo) Montalvo and was a 1967 graduate of Muskegon High School. Maria worked as a bank teller at PNC Bank for over 35 years prior to retirement. She was an avid Tigers fan and rarely missed a game. She also enjoyed reading, camping, the outdoors, working in her yard as if she were one with nature, and writing poetry, but first and foremost was her family. Through her loving heart and nurturing spirit, everyone truly was her family. SURVIVORS include her children, Anna (Frank) Kovalcik, Alfred “Pape” Carrillo, Nicole (Mario) Florez and Nate Wheeler; 11 grandchildren, Alyssa, Tevin, Jake, Trent, Alexis, Grace, Amber, Chase, Emily, Sophia and Amila; 1 great-grandson, Otto; 3 brothers, Joe (Edie) Montalvo, Louie (Mary) Montalvo, Charlie Montalvo; and 1 sister Margarita (Felix) Pacheco. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and her beloved pet dog, Thor. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Carlos Ramos officiating. VISITATION will be held from 5-7 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions will be directed to Noah Project.
