Maria E. Wolf's Obituary
Maria Elena (Cisneros) Wolf, age 66, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 30, 2019 from diabetic complications. She was born on August 10, 1953 to Fidencio and Loretta (Saugie) Cisneros in Manistee, MI and graduated in 1971 from Fruitport High School, where she excelled in gymnastics and choir. It was there she met the love of her life in James Wolf and on September 7, 1974 they were married. While they were never blessed with children of their own, as “Aunt Ria”, she was like a second mom to the family’s nephews and nieces as well as children of close friends. Maria truly loved the outdoors and even though she couldn’t swim a lick, she loved being out on the water in a boat or tubing and canoeing down a river. She also enjoyed motorcycle riding, auto racing and football, but her true passion was baseball. Maria loved being the bookkeeper for her husband’s teams, as all the guys were affectionately known as “her boys”, and her dedication for accuracy was respected by both the umpires and opposing teams. Maria had a beautiful smile with a sweet and loving personality and made many friends of co-workers at Lorin Industries, K-Mart, and Oleco Manufacturing from which she retired in 2008. For her retirement, she received a signed shirt as a gift from everyone, and it was one of her most prized possessions. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James; brother, Fidencio Cisneros Jr.; sisters: Rosalinda (Cisneros) Hockenberry, Margarita (Cisneros) Clark, Seraphina Cisneros, and Loretta Cisneros Jr.; along with many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and a sister, Delores. A Celebration of Maria’s Life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
