Mrs. Marialice Jones' Obituary
Mrs. Marialice Jones, widow of Burton Jones, Sr. of Norton Shores, MI, peacefully left this world on August 18, 2018 at the Poppen House in Fruitport, MI. Born July 18, 1935, in Muskegon, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Vern and Marjorie (Wentworth) Tarney. Marialice graduated from Muskegon High School, worked as a switchboard operator at Brunswick before her marriage, and true to her nurturing personality, spent many years running an in-home daycare. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, never missing a concert or sporting event. Marialice was an active member of McGraft Memorial Congregational Church. She is survived by son, Burton (Nancy) Jones, Jr., of Jenison; daughters, Gail M. Jones of Norton Shores and Michelle (Robert) Kemp of Norton Shores; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and her brother, Gerald (Debbie) Tarney of Muskegon. In addition to her husband, Burton, she was predeceased by daughter, Julie Jones. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 28 at 2PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 1-2PM. Donations in her name may be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation, 1050 W.
