Mrs. Marian Louise Gallup's Obituary
Mrs. Marian Louise Gallup, age 97, passed away Tuesday morning, January 8, 2013. She was born August 12, 1915 in Muskegon to Peter and Louise (Petersen) Hansen. Marian was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School. She was a business woman in Muskegon, and was co-proprietor, along with her husband Lewis, of Gallup Hardware for 23 years before retiring in 1971. Marian was also an active member of the former Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and belonged to the Altar Guild. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. On April 22, 1936 she married Lewis G. Gallup, Sr. and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2000. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Lewis G. (Carol) Gallup, Jr. of Petoskey, MI, Stanley P. (Elaine) Gallup of Jamestown, NY, Louise (Michael) Bauer of Clarkston, MI; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Edwin (Rachel) Hansen of Muskegon; and sister, Lillian (Ray) Remus of Muskegon. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother and 4 sisters. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, January 13, 2013, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. James W. Larsen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Burial will take place in Fruitport Twp. Cemetery.
