Marian Elaine Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Marian Elaine Johnson, age 92, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. She was born in Ludington, Michigan on January 20, 1924 to Rudolph and Minnie (Hathaway) Rogalke. On January 4, 1946, she married Merlin C. Johnson and he preceded her on June 7, 2014. They were married for 68 years. Marian graduated from Hackley School of Nursing in 1945. During her nursing career, she worked for Visiting Nurses and Hackley Hospital before retiring in 1987. Marian was an active member of Samuel Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading and music. Marian will be remembered for her positive and supportive relationships with family and friends. She cherished the memories she made with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. SURVIVORS include her two children, James (Jane) Johnson of Norton Shores and Jean O’Hara of Biddeford, Maine; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Kanaar, Andrew Johnson, Kristen Johnson, Scott (Jamie) O’Hara, Ryan (Katarina) O’Hara and Kelly O’Hara; five great-grandchildren, Landon, Hailey, Violet Layla and Sandra; one brother, Robert Rogalke and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Johnson and her parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2016 at Samuel Lutheran Church (540 Houston, Muskegon, MI 49441)
with Pastor Marcy Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Marian may be made to Samuel Lutheran Church.
