To the Daughter and Son of Marian,

I saw the picture of your mother in her nurse uniform and thought I might have known her because I spent several years as the chairman of. Bronson Hospital Board in Kalamazoo.
When I read the obituary I was rather stunned by certain details. I too was born in 1934 and my name is Marian Garfield. My Garfield family history in this country started in Massachusetts on to New York then to Michigan. My father, Stephen M. Garfield was born in Albion.
While Garfield is a familiar name it is not very common. I was surprised to learn I was not the only Marian Garfield in this world. And while she and I did not share DNA we certainly shared the name. A good one at that!

Marian was such a comfort to my mother, Margaret Visscher in the last earthly days of my father’ life. She showed my mother how to take care of him. She came to the house daily to check on him. My mother considered her and Walt great friends. Christmas is a hard time for your family since you lost so many loved ones at this time. Of the year. What a great reunion in Heaven. She gets to see her Savior face to face and those she held dear. You will miss her but she is HOME. God give you peace, Carol Duba

I will always remember Aunt Marian for her beautiful smile and quick wit at family gatherings. She is rejoicing this Christmas in heaven with her Savior and loved ones that went before her. My thoughts and prayers are with you Sue, Bill, and family as I know you will be missing her here until you are together again.
