Marian Silver's Obituary
Marian Silver, 80, returned to her first love, the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday evening, December 16, 2010. She had been looking forward to the Heavenly home He had prepared for her. Thank you, Lord, for the years you gave us together. Born April 19, 1930 in Traverse City to Burton and Lucille (Wilson) Pickard, Marian lived in this area the last 40-some years. She married Linwood Silver in Thomason, Maine 56 years ago, and he survives her. Mrs. Silver was a secretary at Bennett Pump Co. for 25 years before retiring. She had been a member of First Reformed Church in Muskegon, and currently of Hope Reformed Church in Muskegon, and was active in ladies activities at both churches. Until recently she led a Ladies Bible Class in Ferrysburg. Marian also loved to watch birds and butterflies. Her SURVIVORS include her husband Linwood “Lin”; a son, Doug (Karen) Silver of Palm Bay, FL; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Caroline Locke of Fountain. Her parents and a brother, Donald Pickard, preceded her in death. FUNERAL SERVICES for Mrs. Silver will be held 11 AM Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, (231)-798-1100 with Rev. Steven Hyma officiating, and interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be 7-9 PM Monday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa at Heartwood Lodge.
