Marian L. Stamper's Obituary
Marian L. Stamper, age 89, died on Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was born January 6, 1929 in Big Rapids, MI to Paul and Marie (DePuydt) Renne and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. On February 1, 1947, she married Willard L. Stamper in Remus, MI and he preceded her in death on July 27, 1969. Prior to her retirement in 1990, Marian worked at the United States Post Office as a Postal Carrier for 20 years. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where she had volunteered for funeral luncheons and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Marian enjoyed baking and cooking. Her many hobbies included puzzles, crafts, reading, embroidery and puzzle books. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Rita Stamper of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Jenny (Dan) Horton of Muskegon, Adam Stamper of Muskegon; 2 great grandsons, Robby Stamper and Masyn Horton; 2 brothers, Walter Renne of Big Rapids, Leo Renne of Jackson; and 1 sister, Sister Mary Paula Renne of Ohio. Marian was also preceded in death by brothers, David, Lawrence. Peter and John Renne and sisters, Anne Yost and Louise Renne. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00am Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (3252 E. Apple Ave.) with the Rev. Fr. Phillip Shangraw presiding. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to Mass, 10-11am Friday at the church. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
