Mrs. Marie R. DeVries' Obituary
Mrs. Marie R. DeVries, age 86, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 12, 1927 to Martin and Gertrude (Fellmer) Wagbo. Mrs. DeVries worked all her life, including serving as Justice of the Peace and Kentwood Municipal Court Clerk before retiring in 1980. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their cottage on McLaren Lake, traveling, camping, hunting and fishing. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Ravenna. She is survived by her son, Dale (Linda Corbett) DeVries; one grandson, Allen DeVries; two great-grandchildren, Alex DeVries and Erin (Dylan) Walker; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Loren D. DeVries; her stillborn son, Daniel Loren DeVries; son, Ken DeVries and three brothers, Christopher Wagbo, John Reed and Tom Doyle. An informal Gathering of Remembrance will be from 7 – 9 PM Thursday, June 5, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Entombment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harbor Hospice or a charity of your choice.
