Marie A. Jones' Obituary
Marie A. Jones, age 88, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020. She was born September 10, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI to Andrew and Bernice (Rutkowski) Bolthouse. On September 5, 1953, she married Gerald L. “Jerry” Jones in Spring Lake and he survives her. Marie attended nurses training at Muskegon Community College and worked 6 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse for North Ottawa Community Hospital and 22 years for Dr. Arthur DeBoer before retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grand Haven. Marie was very social and family-oriented and especially enjoyed traveling. She and Jerry also enjoyed their dinners out. One of their favorite past times was taking drives and just being together. Survivors include her loving husband, Jerry Jones; 6 children, Stephen A. (Paula) Jones, Susan (Kent) Berglund, Scott A. (Debra) Jones, Shelley Jones, Shane Jones, Shawn (Chris Trevathan) Jones; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rosemary “Rosie” Mosley, Linda Wade; 1 sister-in-law, H. Cleone Bolthouse; and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, William “Bill” Bolthouse, Bob Bolthouse, and sister-in-law, Edythe Bolthouse. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 16, 2020 outside under the South Portico at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Kurt Wenzelburger officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport.
