Mrs. Marie J. Kuypers' Obituary
Mrs. Marie J. Kuypers, age 89, passed away Tuesday morning, August 30, 2022. She was born on November 11, 1932, to Raymond and Hazel (Garnet) Post in Hart, MI. Marie was a dedicated employee of Howmet, where she worked as an inspector for 27 years. On January 23, 1951, she married the love of her life, Loren Kuypers in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 56 years filled of love and laughter. She was a faithful servant of Our Lord and longtime member of Fifth Reformed Church in North Muskegon. She was very active in her church and loved spending time with her church family. Marie also enjoyed being a “Red Hatter” a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a woman of many talents, cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. Marie and her best friend, Beverely Franks loved spending their time together crafting with ceramics. She was an avid baseball fan, always rooting on her Detroit Tigers! Above all things, she genuinely enjoyed spending time with her family. Marie will be remembered as a loving mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, wonderful sister and dear friend to many. Marie was a vivacious spirit and had the ability to welcome new friends easily. Her kind heart and “worry wart” mentality will genuinely be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her 2 sons, Raymond (Mary) Kuypers and James Kuypers; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Evans, Scott (Kelly) Langlois, Heather (Maurice) Brady, James (Sheila) Kuypers and Chad (Teresa) Kuypers; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Sherwood; best ceramic buddy, Beverly Frank; and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond (Hazel) Post; husband, Loren Kuypers; brother, Donnie Post; daughter-in-law, Linda Kuypers; brother-in-law, Ken Sherwood; and in-laws, James (Grace) Kuypers. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior. Marie will be laid to rest next to her husband, Loren at East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery.
