Marie Lederer's Obituary
Mrs. Marie Lederer, age 95, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 in Whitehall. She was born October 15, 1920 to Joseph and Anna (Hamm) Schuitema in Muskegon, and lived most of her life here. She had worked at Heritage Hospital for 13 years before retiring, was a member of the Moose Lodge where she played in the kitchen band, and was a member of Hope Reformed Church. Marie was a very loving person who was devoted to her family. On July 25, 1941 she married Christopher C. Lederer, Jr., and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1990. She is survived by 2 daughters, Judy (Bruce) Dean, Pam (Chris) Howard; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Robin) Saunders, Chad (Dana) Saunders, Andrea (Jeff) McHenry, Chad (Ara) Howard, Eric Howard; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Harriet Reed and Betty Bjornstrom. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. The funeral service for Mrs. Lederer will be Wednesday, September 7, at 11:00 AM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Steve Hyma officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
