Mrs. Marie Lillian Sohasky's Obituary
Marie L. Sohasky, age 83, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on November 26, 1933 to Joe and Katie Bar in Nunica, Michigan. Marie lived most of her life in the Muskegon area along with 15 years in Manistee, MI. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and St. Mary of the Woods Chapel. Marie enjoyed wintering in Arizona for 20 years, golfing, walking, snowmobiling and cooking for friends and family. On May 12, 1956, she married Ted Sohasky and enjoyed 59 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include three children, Rose (Tom McKeever) Sohasky of Peoria, AZ, Diane (Greg) Zadel of Grand Rapids and Andy Sohasky of Kalamazoo; grandson, Jared Zadel; sisters, Helen Hanson, Frances Holmes; sister-in-law, Pat Sohasky; along with several nieces, nephews and her four Yorkie grand dogs, Zeke, Oliver, Teddy and Pebbles. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; sister, Joann Bryant; and brother, John Bar. The family would like to thank all the third-floor nurses at Mercy Hospital. The Lord took her now so she could rest and be united in Heaven with family gone before her. God Bless you Mom, thank you so much for our lives and everything you taught us. You will remain in our hearts always and forever until we embrace again. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 31, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Rd., with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
