Mrs. Marie A. Walker's Obituary
Mrs. Marie A. Walker, 92, passed away early Monday morning, March 24, 2014. Born December 1, 1921 in Muskegon to Walter and Esther (Murray) Webb, she was a life resident of the Muskegon area. She married Harry J. Walker, Sr., who died December 29, 1962, and had been a nurses aid at Hackley Hospital for several years prior to her retirement. HER SURVIVORS include her children: Darlene (Edward) Evans-Milam of Muskegon, David L. (Kathy) Walker of Camas, WA, and Garey D. (Shirley) Walker of Carlisle, PA; a son-in-law, Donald Springstead of Traverse City; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Harry J. Walker, Jr.; a daughter, Diane Springstead; a granddaughter,Terri Newton; grandsons Kirk and Greg Walker; and five sisters and a brother. Marie liked to play Bingo, and loved spoiling her grand and great-grandchildren with cookies. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Marie Walker will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442. phone 231-726-5210 with her grandson Rev. Garey Walker, Jr. officiating and interment in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
