Marie "Betty" Berggren's Obituary
Mrs. Marie “Betty” Berggren, age 74, died early Monday morning, December 19, 2005. She was born November 9, 1931 in Troy, TN to Virgil and Loretta (Hobbs) Goodman, and had resided in the Muskegon area for most of her life. Mrs. Berggren worked as a short-order cook and waitress for the first G & L Chili Dogs. She loved bowling, and was on the Downtown Eagles bowling team. Mrs. Berggren dealt in antiques, enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and BINGO. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the VFW Post 8846 in North Muskegon. On March 12, 1949, she married Carl A. Berggren and he preceded her in death in 1994. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Linda (Jack) Griswold of Ravenna, Ken (Teresa) Berggren of Albany, GA, Carl Thomas Berggren; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jack (Barb) Goodman, William Goodman both of Muskegon; 5 sisters, Frances (Darold) Wilkinson of Bitely, Estelle Sherrell, Helen (Wallace) Johnson both of Whitehall, Mary Goodman, Rebecca (Rod) Puehler both of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Emma VanBrocklin. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Friday at
