Mrs. Marietta Louise Hasper's Obituary
Mrs. Marietta Louise Hasper, age 87, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Hasper was born June 17, 1925 to Gerald and Martha (Caywood) Wheaton in Grand Ledge, MI. On August 20, 1948 she married Gerard A. “Hap” Hasper in Muskegon Heights. She has been a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church since 1948, where she served on the Women’s Fellowship Committee and was involved in Bible Study groups. Marietta was also with the ADAPT Program in conjunction with Bethany CRC and Muskegon County Mental Health, serving as coordinator for 21 years; she had been a counselor for the Calvinette’s program for 11 years; serving on the National Calvinette board for 6 years; was co-chair for Mother’s March of Dimes for 2 years, and served on the board for 16 years. She volunteered in her church and community for over 64 years. Marietta also liked to read and cook. She is SURVIVED by her loving husband of 64 years, Gerard; brother, Richard E. (Dorotha) Wheaton of Indio Springs, CA; sister, Jeanette Moore of St. Johns, MI; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St., with Rev. David Sieplinga officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Bethany Christian Reformed Church Memorial Fund. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. Arrangements by the Sytsema Funeral Chapel at 737 Apple Ave in Muskegon-726-5210.
