Marilyn Therese Baustert's Obituary
Marilyn Therese Baustert, age 76 of Muskegon, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Marilyn was born on May 3, 1936 in Grand Rapids to Fred and Theresa (Voght) Voss, and graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School. On November 30, 1957 she married John Baustert at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, and they have celebrated 54 years together. She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 brothers and sisters. Marilyn loved her family, especially being able to spoil her grandchildren as often as possible. Her family will always cherish the memories of fresh baked bread and beautiful crocheted afghans made by her loving hands.
Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, her children Mark Baustert of Muskegon, Sara (Jeff) VanKlompenberg of Ravenna, Lydia (Roy) Farrell of Cedar Springs, Becky (Todd) Reits of Kalamazoo, Jennifer (Will) Thatcher of Georgia, Mathew (Kathy) Baustert of Coopersville, Nicholas (Jana) Baustert of Whitehall, Tobias (Kesha) Baustert of Montague, and Rachel (Emmanuel) Baustert of Kalamazoo, 19 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, her brother Jim Voss of Walker, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Marilyn at 10:00am on Monday, September 24 at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Ravenna with Rev. Fred Brucker as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Catherines Cemetery. Friends may meet with Marilyn’s family for a time of visitation on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna. The Rosary will be prayed for Marilyn at 7:30pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
