Marilyn J. Chester's Obituary
Marilyn J. Chester, age 85, passed away at home Friday, November 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 2, 1937, to Kern and Mabel (Leroux) Dalson in Twin Lake, MI and has remained a lifelong resident. Marilyn dedicated over 30 years to Mercy (General) Hospital, where she worked as a Cardiac Lab Technician before retiring in 2003. She was a loyal and faithful Christian and servant of Our Lord. She was an active member of Twin Lake Community Church, where she dedicated her time teaching the word of God to many. She took pride in being involved and operating the dynamics of the church. Marilyn volunteered her time helping others; during 2 mission trips for Hurricane Katrina. She also participated in church fundraisers, food banks and DeColores ministries, which became a love she introduced and shared with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Canasta with her friends, family and challenging her online competitors. Above all, her friends, family and faith were of most importance to Marilyn. Serving Him and following Christ during her faith journey are examples Marilyn has proudly left her family.
She was a loving mother, doting grandmother, wonderful sister, and dear friend to many. To have known Marilyn was a delight, and her caring and thoughtful spirit will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her 6 children, Steven (Debra) Chester, Kathy (James) Pesch, Kenneth (Barb) Chester, David (Dianne North) Burnham Jr., Lori (Michael) Lingo and Meri Fortenbacher; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Harold Dalson; and sisters, Muriel Dunbar and Juanita Romanosky. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur Dalson and Rickert Dalson; and sisters, Gloria Barnhard and Cheryl Dalson. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Twin Lake Community Church, 5940 Main St., Twin Lake, MI 49457. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn’s honor can be directed to Twin Lake Community Church, Muskegon Rescue Mission or Western Michigan Teen Challenge.
