Mrs. Marilyn A. Cooper's Obituary
Mrs. Marilyn A. Cooper, age 72, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 2, 2012. Marilyn was born January 26, 1940 in Muskegon to Mason and Elizabeth (VanderWier) Archer, Sr. She was a 1958 graduate of Muskegon High School and worked as a merchandiser for American Greetings for 20 years. Marilyn was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was also active in DeColores since 1979. Marilyn volunteered for Supper House and several area food trucks, as well as being an avid gardener. On September 6, 1958 she married Vallie D. Cooper in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2010. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Valene (Don) Hebeler, Tommy Cooper, Penny Cooper; 6 grandchildren, Derek and Molly Hebeler, Amanda and Adam (Stephanie) Boss, Ryan and Lucas Cooper; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Merrit (Paulette) Archer; sister, Merry Jane (Tim) Smith; sister-in-law, Virginia Archer; many nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, “Holly”. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, April Boss; 2 brothers, Fr. Marvin Archer and Mason Archer, Jr. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-5 PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Harbor Hospice/Poppen Residence or the First Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
