Marilyn J. Felinski's Obituary
Marilyn J. Felinski, age 84, passed away late Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on August 22, 1936 to Leo and Hattie (Senkowski) Lappo in Muskegon, MI, and was a life-long resident. She graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School as a member of their first graduating class and continued her education at Mercy School of Nursing. During her career as a Registered Nurse, Marilyn worked at Mercy Hospital and for several area doctors. On October 5, 1957, she married the love of her life, Bill Felinski, and together they cherished 43 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2001. She loved playing the piano and for 40 years was the organist for St. Michael’s Church and the accompanist for the Male Choir. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family. Marilyn was smart, kind, and had a great sense of humor. Her selfless and tender-loving spirit will be missed. She is survived by her daughter, Laureen (Gary) Samples and her son, Jeff Felinski. She leaves behind 3 sisters-in-law, Christine Tourcotte, Lillie Stefaniak, and Marie (Mike) Lindner, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, an aunt, step grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also fortunate to have a small circle of very good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Bill Felinski; and her brother, Richard Lappo, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Angela and Walter Felinski. For the past 8 months, Marilyn’s family did everything they could to protect her from COVID-19, only to have her contract it during a necessary convalescent stay at a rehab facility after breaking her ankle. COVID-19 took Marilyn’s life. To honor her memory, we humbly request that you wear a mask, in order to save lives. Due to the current health restrictions, there will be no services. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. You may visit the family’s online guest book at www.sytsemafh.com.
