Marilyn Joann Johnson's Obituary
Marilyn “Joann” Johnson, age 83, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Joann was born in Muskegon on May 26, 1939, to her parents James and Edna (Pickett) Wilson. A lifelong Muskegon resident, she graduated from Muskegon High School. On August 22, 1959, she married Raymond “Kent” Johnson, and they spent 46 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2005. Joann enjoyed going for walks, going out to restaurants, volunteering at Hackley Hospital, and anything to do with Elvis, but mostly loved spending time with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Ricky (Lori) Johnson, Kenneth (Teresa) Johnson, Diane (Jon) Jensen, and Barbara (Kevin) Workman; nine grandchildren: Erik (Jessica), Kristen (Matt), Jake, Chad (Beka), Ryan, Kaitlyn (Dustyn), Brandie (John), Stacey (Michael), and Joie (Kyle); six great-grandchildren; close friends, Gisela and Louise; and special cousins, Don and Mary Vanderwest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent, and parents, James and Edna. A FUNERAL will be taking place for Joann at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior.
