Marilyn "Kay" Beecham's Obituary
Mrs. Marilyn “Kay” Beecham, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in Muskegon. She was born on December 29, 1939 to Olen “Jack” and Alice (Newman) Disbennett in York Center, Ohio. Kay worked at Oakridge Public Schools as a teacher for 40 years before retiring in 2000. She married her sweetheart, Bob Beecham on June 23, 1962 and they spent 57 wonderful years together before he passed away on December 1, 2019. Kay was a longtime member of St. Patrick St. Anthony Parish in Grand Haven and served on the Norton Shores City Council for over 30 years. She stayed active by reading, sewing, crafting, gardening, traveling with her girlfriends on several long and short trips, and enjoyed relaxing by her pool. Most importantly was the time Kay spent with her children and grandchildren and she loved attending all of her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. She will be dearly missed by her children, Lee Ann (Chris) Lundeen and Jason (Sue) Beecham; grandchildren, Conner Lundeen, Hannah Lundeen (fiancé Will Logan), Alex Beecham, Eryn Beecham, and Easton Beecham; brother, Jerry Disbennett; sisters, Sabra Hamilton and Connie (Kevin) Willeke; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Along with her husband, Bob, Kay was also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Beecham; parents; brother, Chuck Disbennett; and brother-in-law, Jack Hamilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 27 at St. Patrick St. Anthony Parish (920 Fulton St., Grand Haven, MI 49417). Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 26 from 5-8PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
