Marilyn Ruth McCartney's Obituary
Marilyn Ruth McCartney, age 88, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Muskegon. She was born June 12, 1934, in Muskegon, MI, to Frank and Ruth (Sherman) Jenkins. She attended Muskegon Heights High School and graduated in 1952. On March 8, 1952, she married Robert McCartney and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2005.
Marilyn was devoted to the mission of helping those with traumatic brain injuries. She also sang as part of the Sweet Adeline’s and enjoyed playing cribbage. What Marilyn loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by her children, Marsha (Thomas) Cook, Robert (Suzanne) McCartney and Mark (Karen) McCartney; grandchildren, Laura (Rocky) Schippa, Thomas Jr. (Dana) Cook, Kathryn (Arvid) Sias, Hannah (Joseph) Phelps, Brian (Teresa) McCartney and Joseph (Rosie Cunningham) McCartney; and 10 great grandchildren. Along with her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Phyllis Langlois and Evelyn Hogarth.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11 AM on Friday, June 9, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444) with VISITATION 1 hour prior to the service.
