Marilyn K. Meekhof's Obituary
Marilyn K. Meekhof, age 79, passed away early Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 9, 1945, to Herbert and Marrion (Settle) Strandberg Sr. in Muskegon, MI where she has been a lifelong resident. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School class of 1963. On April 5, 1968, she married Francis “Pete” Hosko at Calvary Baptist Church. Together they cherished 43 years of love and laughter, he preceded her in death on February 3, 2012. She found love again and on September 12, 2015, she married John Meekhof in Muskegon cherishing nine years together. Marilyn was known for her love and passion for antiquing, owning and operating Airport Antique Mall for many years. She would also work from time to time at Yonkers as a sales clerk retiring in 2009. Marilyn was a gifted seamstress, blessing her family over the years with wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and cherished treasures for her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her time camping, watching Hallmark movies, and baking delicious sweets for her family. Marilyn will always be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, doting grandma and great-grandma, amazing sister and dear friend to many. Marilyn had a heart of gold always willing to help others whenever she could. Her nurturing and tender-loving spirit will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, John Meekhof; children, Stephanie (Scott) Lubbers, Shelly (Rich) Przybylek, Bill (Betsy) Hosko and David (Mandy) Hosko, Tyler Hosko, Chris (Breonna) Hosko, Tiara Hosko and Dakota Hosko; 17 grandchildren, Joshua (Chelsea), Lauren, Alex, Caleb, Gabriella, Landon, Isabella, Franny, Sammy, Breanna, Kaleb, Brittney, Rylee, Autymn, Scarlett, Tiphanie and Jamie; several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Michael (Debra) Strandberg, Herbert (Diane) Strandberg Jr. and Mark (Sandy) Strandberg. She was preceded in death by her parents; and first husband, Pete Hosko. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Port City Church, 3387 Heights Ravenna Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444 with visitation from 12:00-1:00 PM. A visitation with the family will be held from 5-8:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
