Marilyn Joyce Sterenberg's Obituary
Mrs. Marilyn J. Sterenberg, 90, passed away early Monday morning, April 22, 2024, in Muskegon. She was born May 10, 1933, to Roy and Ann (Hendricks) Derr in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. Marilyn had worked for several years at Beerman’s Music before retiring and was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church. In November of 1953 she married Richard A. Sterenberg and he preceded her in death in 1997. Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Mark) Stevens; her son-in-law, David Hart; six grandchildren, Amanda (Berry) Ghezzi, Adam Stevens, Jeremy (Lara) Stevens, David (Melissa) Hart, Jr., Lindsay (Drew) Moore, Brian (fiancée Sydney Zayler) Stevens; two brothers, Ron (Darlene) Derr and Roger Derr; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Debra A. Hart. A service to remember and celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held Friday, May 3, at 2:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Sterenberg may be made to Corewell Hospice.
