Marilyn J. VanDonkelaar's Obituary
Mrs. Marilyn J. VanDonkelaar, age 81, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on July 6, 1933 in Ludington, MI to Elmer and Gertrude “Ruth” (Danielson) Swanson, and resided in the Muskegon area since 1953. Marilyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing and reading. On June 13, 1953, she married Nickolas VanDonkelaar, and they were married for 61 years. SURVIVORS include, her husband Nickolas; 3 children, Brenda (Dennis) Hulme of Wayland, MI, Julie (Matthew) Church of Twin Lake, and Jennifer (Mark) Kline of Walker, MI; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Waruszewski of Whitehall. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Swanson; and sister, Viola Kirkpatrick. The MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor Terry Fulk officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM.
