Marilynn K. LeMieux's Obituary
Marilynn K. LeMieux, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 18, 1957, to Gerald and Pauline (Certalic) Springstead in Muskegon, Michigan, where she remained a lifelong resident. Marilynn graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School with the Class of 1975. On October 3, 1975, she married the love of her life, Rick LeMieux, at St. Jean Catholic Church. Together, they shared 37 years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories before Rick preceded her in death on July 17, 2013. Marilynn was a dedicated employee of Rite Aid, where she worked for over 20 years as a pharmacy technician before retiring in 2013. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was relaxing on her porch and enjoying nature or trying her luck at the casino. A true social butterfly, Marilynn was known for her warm and outgoing personality. She had a remarkable gift for conversation and could strike up a friendship with anyone she met—no trip was ever a short one when Marilynn was along. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a devoted sister, and a cherished friend to many. She is survived by her three children, Michelle (Chris) Place, Kate (Dan) Scanlan and Mike (Erin) LeMieux; six grandchildren, Madison Place, Tyler Scanlan, Drew Scanlan, Brynn LeMieux, Peyton LeMieux and Sawyer LeMieux; brother, John Springstead; brother-in-law, Jeff Erickson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald (Pauline) Springstead; loving husband, Rick LeMieux; granddaughter, Emma Scanlan; sister, Christine Erickson; and sister-in-law, Paula Springstead. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, at The Lee Chapel.
