Marilyn R. (Mars) Hittle's Obituary
Mrs. Marilyn Ruth (Mars) Hittle, age 74, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her home. She was born April 4, 1936 in Muskegon to Wiebe and Shirley (Anderson) Mars and lived in the area her entire life. On June 4, 1954, she married Merle H. Hittle and he survives her. She worked 19 years as a designer for Bastian Blessing and later worked as a data processor for C.D. Data Processing. She retired from Dalton Township Assessors Department in 1999. Marilyn enjoyed sewing, cooking, computers and was an avid reader. SURVIVORS include her husband, Merle; 4 children, Merle H. Hittle, Jr. of Plano, TX, Melvin L. (Sandy) Hittle of Newberry, MI, Michael D. Hittle of Twin Lake, Mark S. (Karen) Hittle of Baldwin, MI; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Douglas Mars of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, James (Linda) Mars of Rochester, NY, Richard Mars of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Teddy Miller, Brenda Kling, and Sharon Wilks. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirlee J. Jackson, her parents, and 1 sister, Barbara Duff. In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Dalton Township Library in Twin Lake.
