Mr. Mario L. Bartoli's Obituary
Mario L. Bartoli, 93, passed away early Saturday morning, October 25, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born June 17, 1921 to Joseph and Anna (Tacchinelli) Bortoli in Caltrano, Italy, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1926. He worked at Continental Motors for 42 years, retiring in 1983, and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, belonged to the Moose Lodge, and the Garden Club. Mr. Bartoli enjoyed gardening, woodcrafts, drawing, his greenhouse, and taking care of the ice rink at Marquette School. On October 10, 1942 he married Opal Loane, and she preceded him in death on November 29, 1997. SURVIVORS include3 children, Mario “Mike” (Carole) Bartoli of Zeeland, Mary (Clarence) Piper of Muskegon, Martino “Marti” (Beth Davis) Bartoli of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Bartoli of Muskegon. He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank Bartoli and his sister Angeline Bartoli. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, Oct. 30 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. Visitation at the Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, 49442, (231) 726-5210 will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday, and 1 hour prior to the service at church.
