Marion S. Sieplinga's Obituary
Marion Selma Sieplinga, age 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Monday morning, March 11, 2019. She was born May 13, 1924 in Muskegon to Olof and Selma (Erickson) Kvarnberg. On September 28, 1944, she married Frank R. Sieplinga in Fort Rucker, AL, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2005. Marion worked at E.H. Sheldon 10 years and then Dresser Crane and Hoist another 10 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of Fifth Reformed Church and was active in the RCWM and Coffee Break Bible Study. Marion was a sweet little lady who never complained about anything! She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing the Swedish game, Fia. Most of all, she loved and adored her family. SURVIVORS include 4 children: Bonnie (Larry) Vanderlaan of Roosevelt Park, Robert (Cynthia) Sieplinga of Muskegon, Ronald Sieplinga and Donald Sieplinga both of Norton Shores; 6 grandchildren: Sue Henderson, Scott (Jill) Vanderlaan, Shawn (Alicia) Sieplinga, Todd (Molly) Sieplinga, Kristy (Ryan) Brady, Michael Sieplinga; 8 great-grandchildren: Erika, Jori, Ethan, Erin, Mallory, Jax, Brody, and Jacob. Marion was also preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank Christian Care Nursing Center and their staff for the exceptional care given to Marion and the family during this most difficult time. A CELEBRATION OF MARION’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Fifth Reformed Church (2330 Holton Rd.) with Pastor Scott VanArendonk officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 and also one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. Memorials to the Fifth Reformed Church Roof Fund or Christian Care Nursing Center will be appreciated.
