Mrs Marjorie Ruth Hile's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie Ruth Hile, age 94, of Fruitport passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday December 13, 2016. She was born on May 12, 1922 in Sullivan Indiana to Emmett and Hortense (Clemens) Thornberry. In 1928 the family moved to Michigan, and in 1946, Marjorie married Anson Hile. Marjorie worked in Dr. Bruce Grayson’s office for 25 years as a secretary and retired in 1985. She was a very active member of Temple United Methodist Church for over 80 years, where she was in the Woman’s Society, sang in the choir, the Traveleer’s and the Melodears. She had a passion for music and sang in many productions in Florida and Michigan. She is survived by her children; Donald (Juanita) Fowler, Joanne (Richard) Vandenberg, Dianne (Chris) Burch, Greg (Jane) Hile, and Susie (George) Schwallier, sister; Carolyn “Sue” Miller, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Jim Krepps. She is preceded in death by her husband, brother; William Thornberry, and sister; Phyllis Wolfe. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 2 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St, 231-798-1100, with Pastor Jeff Bowman presiding. A VISITATION will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Lee Chapel from 3-5 PM.
