Marjorie Kane's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie Kane, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Green Acres of Allendale with her granddaughter by her side. Marjorie was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on October 19, 1935 to Frank and Alice (Hindal) Behm. She graduated from Hackley Hospital Nursing program as an RN, and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Marjorie was employed by Hackley Hospital, Muskegon Osteopathic Hospital, Muskegon Heritage Hospital and numerous local long term care facilities prior to her retirement at age 76. Marjorie was a tireless servant in her everyday life and her career. She enjoyed knitting, reading, getting visits from her great-granddaughter, sitting on the porch drinking coffee and crossword puzzles. Most importantly, Marjorie loved her family and they always came first. It was rare to capture a picture with her in it that did not include her sticking her tongue out with a Diet Pepsi in hand. She was loved for being a selfless soul who was strong, independent, full of wisdom and so full of love. She was also well known for her smart comebacks and witty personality, which she maintained until the end. Marjorie married Patrick Kane in 1956 and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1982. She is survived by three children, Kevin (Lori) Kane, Darren Kane (Sherry Heiss), Lisa (Mitchell) Stevens; seven grandchildren, Heather (Colin) VanderWal, Morgan Kane, Jessica Kane, Andrew Kane, Alison (Austin Snoeyink) Kane, Blake Stevens, and Brooke Stevens; one great-granddaughter, Rowyn VanderWal; brother, Ronald (Dawn) Behm; sister, Nancy Hall; brother-in-law, Carl Sorenson; sister-in-law, Mary Behm; a dear friend, Shelly (Victor) Cronk and many loving nieces and nephews.
