Mrs. Marjorie A. Peterson's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie Peterson, age 92, passed away Saturday morning, June 15, 2013, at the Poppen Residence. Marjorie was born January 29, 1921 to Garrit and Alice (DeYoung) VanderMolen in Muskegon. On May 10, 1940 she married Stanley Peterson. Marjorie had been employed as a cashier for the W.T. Grant store for 15 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Muskegon Eagles, enjoyed bowling with her husband, Stanley and was an avid cribbage player. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 73 years, Stanley; her sons, Wendell Peterson of Ida, MI and Richard (Anne Kershaw) Peterson of Kingston, Ontario; granddaughters, Sandra (Steve) DeMoss and Kathy (Kevin) Kuron; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, and Adrienne DeMoss; her sister, Loraine Huff of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews; love and special thanks to niece, Rosemary Swinburne. Missed by special family friend, Richard Boers. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eloise Cooper and Mildred Boone. A PRIVATE GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Muskegon Rescue Mission.
