Mrs. Marjorie E. Tejchma's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie Eleanor Tejchma, age 92, passed away Friday afternoon, December 27, in Muskegon. She was born January 20, 1921 to Roy and May (Kownover) McCombs in Granger, IN, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Marjorie worked as a baker for the Mona Shores Schools for 22 years before retiring, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII. On July 27, 1946 she married John J. Tejchma in Ravenna, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1963. Survivors include 6 children and spouses, Michael (Nancy) Tejchma of Ludington, Robert (Cathy) Tejchma of Norton Shores, John (Marie) Tejchma of Fruitport, Cathy Tejchma of Norton Shores, Charles (Charyl)Tejchma of Grand Rapids, Howard (Steve) Tejchma of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Florence Middleton. Marjorie was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Mrs. Tejchma always insisted on being called Mom by her children and their spouses. She preferred to be independent and active after she was done raising her children. She crocheted many items for her family and beyond. She had a very green thumb, loved to sing, religiously attended her family reunions and deeply lived her faith in the way she showed acceptance and genuine love, no matter what. We know in heaven she is already continuing in one of her passions on earth, BINGO!
