Mrs. Marjorie Lucille VanHouten's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie Lucille VanHouten, daughter of the late Clifford and Henrietta Correll was born November 27, 1926 in Muskegon MI. She was a graduate of Muskegon High School. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a long time member at Grace Memorial Baptist Church where she served as the Choir director and Sunday school teacher for much of her life.
She was united in holy matrimony to Harold Henry VanHouten on October 3rd, 1947. The union was blessed with 5 children. Harold proceeded her in death on June 28th, 2002 along with their first-born son Daniel Clifford VanHouten in November 1963
Marjorie peacefully departed her earthly journey on April 7th, 2017 in the home of her daughter Ruth Ann (James) McMann surrounded by loved ones and was embraced by her loving Savior and loved ones as she entered her eternal home.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: David (Renee’) VanHouten, Ruth Ann (James) McMann, Paul (Mary) VanHouten, Sue Karr. All children reside in Muskegon MI. Grandchildren: Wendy (Mu) Meng, Brian VanHouten, Rebecca (Brian) Garver, Michael (Veronica) McMann, Victoria McMann, Erin (Javon) Kilgo, Stacey (Chad) Chen, Adrian VanHouten, Leanne (Anthony) Morales, Jason Karchinski. Great Grandchildren: Lilly Meng, Megan Garver, Mikayla Garver, Elijah Garver, Madeline Garver, Corey McMann, Jaymie McMann, Kaleb McMann, Sara McMann, Christan Johnson, Tyree Kilgo, Kylie Kilgo, Marriah Maybanks, Alison Chen, Amelia Chen, Henry Chen, Cora Morales. And one great- great grandson Korey McMann along with many countless loved ones.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2 pm Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Wolf Lake Baptist Church. VISITATION will take place at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 from 10-11 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
