Marjorie A. Visscher's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie A. “Marge” Visscher, age 92, formerly of Muskegon, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Whitehall, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on January 17, 1932 to Earl and Kathryn (Engle) DeWitt. On October 7, 1950, Marge married Joseph J. Visscher and they lived in the Lansing area for over 30 years. Marge worked as an underwriter for Michigan Millers Insurance Company for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1991. After retirement, they moved back to the Muskegon area. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Muskegon Eagles. Marge loved to be active and social. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing, sewing, puzzles, outings to Lake Michigan, and the outdoors. She looked forward to bus trips with her daughter and friends to the casino, concerts, and shopping trips. Marge also had a special relationship with her grandson Brandon and he always took good care of her. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Lynn) Forell; grandchildren, Toby Crowe and Brandon (Corey) Visscher; step-grandson, Travis Forell; and her beloved dog, Lizzy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Visscher; son, Randy Visscher; mother, Kathryn Barnum; father, Earl DeWitt; and granddaughter, Shelby Garza.
