Mark D. Boes' Obituary
Mark D. Boes, age 58, passed away after collapsing Sunday, March 1, 2015 while doing what he loved most, ice fishing. He was born June 19, 1956 in Salina, Kansas to David and Betty (Christenson) Boes. Mark was a 1974 graduate of Mona Shores High School and received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. He had been the custodian at Lakeside Baptist Church for 21 years and from 1991 until present had been a bus driver for the Muskegon Area Transit System. Mark was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Financial Secretary. He had been an avid baseball, softball, and basketball player, and loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and camping. He especially loved to coach his son’s baseball and soccer teams. On July 21, 1989 he married Maria C. Jacobs in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 sons: Brett and Jacob Boes; parents: David and Betty Boes; brothers: Tim (Cyndi) Boes, Erik Boes; brothers and sisters-in-law: Brian (Brenda) Jacobs, Melissa (Jim Flannery) Jacobs, Kyle (Kate) Jacobs; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his niece, Alicia Boes and his father and mother-in-law, Ken and Patricia Jacobs. A CELEBRATION OF MARK’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Lakeside Baptist Church with a luncheon to follow with Pastor Leslie Lew officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the Lakeside Baptist Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
