Mark Allen Jacobs' Obituary
Mr. Mark Allen Jacobs, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Nunica, Michigan on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on January 9, 1962 to Paul Jacobs Sr. and Marilyn (Alford) Filip. Mark earned his Associate of Criminal Justice degree and dedicated 16 years of service to the Michigan Department of Corrections before medically retiring in 2002. He found great peace and comfort at home, where he enjoyed caring for his land and ponds and spending time on his personal rifle range. Mark had a deep love for astronomy and could often be found studying the stars through one of his telescopes, happily sharing his knowledge and passion with friends and family. He cherished the feeling of the wind on his face while riding his motorcycle and created lasting memories with his beloved Fourth of July BBQs, always ending the evening with a spectacular fireworks display. Mark is survived by his son, Zachariah (Emily) Jacobs; dear friend who was like a son, Adam Lakatos; sister, Julie Jacobs; brothers, Paul Jacobs Jr. and David (Sherrie) Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, MaryAnn LeDoux. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
