Mark Lahr's Obituary
Mark H. Lahr, age 76, of Spring Lake died from accidental injuries Friday, August 5, 2005, in a Grand Rapids hospital. He was born November 2, 1928, to Walter and Cella (Hodson) Lahr in Grand Rapids, MI; and married Joan M. Griffith March 31, 1951, in Grand Rapids.
Mr. Lahr served in the US Army Reserves and formerly owned Stubs Pub in Conklin for 12 years. He retired from Michigan Lithograph of Grand Rapids after many years of service. Mr. Lahr enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his friends and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joan M. Lahr; three daughters: Lyn (Will Apkarian) Lahr of San Antonio, Texas and their daughter Aaryn; Sharon (Rudy) Elzinga and children Kelly (Lt. Bill) Hafer, Nicholas (special friend Becky Ritz), and Joni (Casey) Beckett; Laura (Joe) Shingola II of Comstock Park, Mich. and their children Madison and Joe III; two sons: Anthony Lahr of Rockford and his children Jessica, Derek and Jenna; Eric (Glendene) Lahr of Byron Center, Mich. and their children Jordan, Andrew and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Hafer and Alivia Beckett; and a brother-in-law, James (Maribell) Britt of White Cloud. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick William Lahr.
A memorial service for Mark will be held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Memorials to Hospice of North Ottawa Community, 1515 S. DeSpelder St., Grand Haven, MI 49417, are appreciated.
