Mark F. Dahlke's Obituary
Mark F. Dahlke, age 63 passed away very unexpectedly and was called home to his Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Mark was born on February 22, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI to Rev. John and Caroline (Kansier) Dahlke. He was a graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran H.S. in Appleton, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin. He married the former, Barbara Thomas in Appleton, WI on December 30, 1966. Mark was a loyal and faithful man who led by example and gifted his loving family a legacy of faith. Faith and family came first in Mark’s life. He was a faithful member at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rockford, MI where he was an elder, served on many church committees, offices and sang in the choir. He worked at the McDonald’s Corporate Office in Chicago for 17 years followed by the purchase of his and Barb’s first restaurant in South Haven, MI in 1986. A little more than two years later, Mark and Barb purchased restaurants in Muskegon and moved their family to N. Muskegon in 1989. Mark served on several McDonald’s boards and committees throughout the years, both nationally and within the Michigan and Grand Rapids Regions. Mark was also a member of the Muskegon Elks Lodge #274 and enjoyed sponsoring and golfing on the Thursday night golf league. Mark is survived by his: wife, Barb of N. Muskegon; three children, Lisa (Larry) Bluhm of N. Muskegon, Timothy (Angela) Dahlke of Rockford, MI and Erin Dahlke of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Bluhm and Braden, Brooke & Camille Dahlke; one brother, John (Jan) Dahlke of Weyauwega, WI; and two sisters, Carol (Dean) Kasdorf and Ruth Dahlke of Madison, WI. The funeral service will be held at: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Christ our Savior Lutheran Church, 4610 Belding Rd. NE, Rockford, MI with Rev. Timothy Gauger officiating. Visitation will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, Friday, 5-8 P.M. and at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Interment: Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to: Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church will be appreciated.
