Mark Jacob Snell, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Mark Jacob Snell, Jr., age 93, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at a nursing home in Exeter, MO. He was born August 21, 1914 in Benona Township, MI and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. In 2004, he moved to Exeter, MO, to be closer to his son, Robert. Prior to his retirement, he worked 37 years as a supervisor for Lakey Foundry. He worked a few years as a janitor for Holton Public Schools after he retired from Lakey Foundry. He married the former Lois Jewell in 1960, and she preceded him in death in 2004. He was an active member of Cedar Creek Covenant Church and when in Florida, he attended Family Bible Chapel. He was also active in the Young At Heart Senior Citizens Group in Florida. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Robert (Mary) Snell of Exeter, MO, Geraldine Newell of California; 4 step-children, Wayne Green of Muskegon, Donna (Tom) LeMieux of Spring Lake, Dorothy Wiseman of Muskegon, Carol Joy (friend, Walt) Chvala of Montague; his grandson whom they raised as their own, Lonnie (Lynn) Keech of Holton; 3 generations of grandchildren; 1 sister, Alice Wentzloff of Manistee. He was also preceded in death by his step-daughter, Edna Hargenrater, 2 brothers, Glen and Ralph Snell, 2 sisters, Edith McClain and Doris Snell. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2007, at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Pastor Robert Woods officiating.
